Providenciales cruise - pretty beaches, a wide variety of water sports and more
Launched in 1992, Majesty of the Seas underwent an extensive renovation in 2007 resulting in across-the-board modernization of all the ship's amenities. This included a complete overhaul of the guest suites and staterooms, casual dining areas, the main dining rooms, the Adventure Ocean youth area (featuring a teen-focused Fuel Nightclub and Living Room lounge) conference rooms, the pool deck, theater, Casino Royale, and the Day Spa and Fitness Center. In addition, an all-new onboard entertainment lineup was developed for the updated launch. The newly transformed Majesty offers year-round three- and four-night cruises between Miami and the Bahamas, keeping passengers entertained with daily ports (i.e., no sea days), lively nights, and high-energy action via a casino, climbing wall, and creative entertainment. Four-night cruises are slightly quieter than three-night ones, but Majesty's 2,350 guests are up for a good time either way. Although Sovereign of the Seas has been in service since 1988, she hides her age well, thanks to a massive refurbishment in 2004. The retrofit completely changed the interior decor, added large balconies to 62 cabins, and enhanced the spa and children's facilities. The newly reborn Sovereign has a whole new look and a young, vibrant attitude. With its popular rock-climbing wall and dance lounges, the 73,000-ton, 14-deck ship carries upwards of 2,250 passengers, most of whom are under 40, on short but high-spirited sailings to the Bahamas. Curious first-time cruisers, the budget-conscious, and vacationers without much time off derive the most benefit from the three- and four-night cruises typical for Sovereign of the Seas. The active and informal crowd found onboard generally falls between the ages of 20 and 40-just right for taking advantage of the ample bars and lounges, expansive decks for sunning, and complimentary rock-climbing wall. Families with young children benefit from the enlarged children's area. Older and more traditional travelers probably won't enjoy the hordes and noise level on this ship. New high-tech conference facilities allow business groups to take working vacations together.
