It is operated by Providenciales Airport Company. Provo Airport (PLS) is a modern, full service facility that welcomes dozens of international flights every week from North America, Europe and other Caribbean Islands. It is also the gateway to the rest of the Turks & Caicos Islands. The territory's other international airport is JAGS McCartney International Airport on Grand Turk Island. There are plans for the Turks and Caicos Islands Government to buy back the airport for a sum of approximately $75 million dollars which would be bought with money from a "special loan". The Deputy Premier stated that a number of airlines operating wide-bodied aircraft expressed an interest in beginning operations into the country.
